A home espresso machine is worth considering when it fits a coffee habit you already have. The Ninja Luxe Café Premier and Breville Bambino Plus approach that habit differently: one brings grinding and several drink styles into a single setup; the other centers on espresso and lets you choose the grinder separately.

How we researched: Manufacturer information and the exact Amazon.com listings were checked on October 6, 2026. This is a research-based buying comparison, not a hands-on taste test. We do not claim either machine makes better-tasting espresso from specifications alone. Check current prices, model numbers, and included accessories through the individual links.
The quick buying decision
Investigate the Ninja if you are building a setup from scratch and want espresso, drip coffee, and rapid cold brew with an integrated grinder. Investigate the Breville if espresso and milk drinks are your priority, you already have a suitable grinder, or you prefer upgrading the grinder independently later.
| Buying question | Ninja Luxe Café Premier ES601 | Breville Bambino Plus BES500BSS |
|---|---|---|
| What does it brew? | Espresso, drip coffee, rapid cold brew | Espresso-focused; steam wand for milk drinks |
| Grinder included? | Yes, integrated burr grinder | No; plan your grinding separately |
| Milk assistance? | Hands-free frothing with hot and cold options | Automatic steaming with adjustable temperature and texture; manual option |
| Strongest buying reason | One coordinated setup for different coffee preferences | A separate espresso machine and grinder setup |
Why the Luxe Café Premier may justify its cost
The ES601 combines a burr grinder with 25 settings, weight-based dosing, and brewing guidance. The practical benefit is fewer separate buying decisions when you are starting from whole beans. Its different brew styles may also help a household whose members want different kinds of coffee.
That does not make it effortless. You still prepare drinks, handle the portafilter, refill supplies, and clean. Think through a rushed weekday morning rather than an idealized weekend coffee session. If several household members will use it, discuss who will clean it and keep beans and milk stocked.
There is a credible demand signal: SharkNinja’s second-quarter 2026 results identified Luxe Café as a driver of growth in its cooking and beverage category. That supports investigating the product, but it is not evidence that it outperforms the Bambino Plus or leads the entire espresso market.

Why the Bambino Plus may be the better fit
The Bambino Plus uses a 54mm portafilter and offers automatic milk steaming with three temperature and three texture settings. Breville describes a three-second heating system; that is a manufacturer specification, not a promise that preparing and cleaning an entire drink takes three seconds.
Its separate-grinder approach changes the value calculation. If you already own a grinder suitable for espresso, you may avoid paying for another integrated one. If you do not, include the grinder in your budget and counter-space plan before comparing machine prices.
Keeping the equipment separate can suit someone who wants to change grinding equipment without replacing the espresso machine. It also creates another item to choose, maintain, and store. The choice depends on how involved you want to be, not simply how many features appear on the box.

Compare the whole setup, not just the sale sticker
Write down the machine price, any needed grinder, required maintenance supplies, and accessories you genuinely need. Optional tools can be added later; do not treat every suggested accessory as essential.
Both setups need beans, water, cleaning, and attention to the manufacturer’s maintenance instructions. Milk drinks add ingredients and cleanup. Measure the full usable counter area, including room to handle the portafilter and refill equipment. A narrow machine plus a separate grinder can still occupy substantial space.
The current Ninja product page contains specification fields that appear inconsistent with other listing information, so we have deliberately omitted precise Ninja dimensions rather than treating a questionable field as fact. Verify the exact unit’s dimensions and the clearance instructions before ordering.
Will it actually replace café purchases?
A machine saves money only on spending it genuinely replaces. As an illustration, a complete $600 setup that saves $3 net per replaced café drink needs 200 replaced drinks to recover that purchase cost. At four replaced drinks per week, that is about 50 weeks. This is hypothetical arithmetic, not a price quote or savings forecast.
Include ingredients and maintenance in that net saving. Drinks you make in addition to your usual café purchases do not count as avoided spending. Enjoyment can still justify a purchase, but that is a different reason from saving money.
Who should skip both?
Wait if you are happy with your existing coffee, rarely drink espresso, or want a machine you never have to clean. Start by tracking your actual drink purchases for a week. A less expensive brewing method may fit your needs if lattes and espresso are only occasional treats.
Our recommendation
Choose the Luxe Café Premier for a new, coordinated setup with multiple coffee styles. Choose the Bambino Plus for an espresso-centered routine and deliberate control over your grinder purchase. Without comparative taste testing, we would not declare a universal winner.
